The Sisters of the Precious Blood of Dayton, Ohio: at a Glance

We Sisters of the Precious Blood have dedicated our lives to serving God by serving God’s people. Our Precious Blood Spirituality and Eucharistic prayer are catalysts for all we do.

  • We are a Roman Catholic community of consecrated women
  • Precious Blood Spirituality and Eucharistic prayer form the cornerstones of our life and ministry
  • We were founded in 1834 in Switzerland by Mother Maria Anna Brunner
  • The first Precious Blood Sisters came to the United States in 1844
  • Today we serve in the United States as well as in Chile and Guatemala
  • We serve in a wide variety of ministries including education, spiritual formation, peace, justice and care of creation efforts, pastoral ministry, and healthcare
  • We have also served in emergency response in the United States and other countries as the need arose
