End Gun Violence

Campaign Resources

The Sisters of the Precious Blood, guided by their Catholic faith, are committed to promoting a culture that values life, peace, and the inherent dignity of every person. In collaboration with other Ohio Catholic religious congregations, they are sponsoring a billboard campaign in Dayton to raise awareness about gun violence and advocate for peace.

The billboard, displaying the message “Put the Guns Down! Nobody is Winning. Let Peace Begin with Me,” will be visible on Interstate 75 in Moraine, Ohio, facing south to reach northbound traffic. The message will be displayed from June 2 to June 29, 2024.

This initiative comes at a critical time when the United States is experiencing an epidemic of gun violence. According to Everytown Research and Policy, an average of 120 people are killed and 200 are injured by firearms each day (as of February 13, 2023). Additionally, the Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence reports that firearms have become the leading cause of death for children and teens in the United States (as of January 11, 2024).

The Sisters of the Precious Blood believe that inaction is not an option. Their billboard campaign is a step toward raising awareness and encouraging action to address gun violence. They invite the community to join them in confronting this culture of violence with love and peace.
