Fourth Sunday of Advent: How Can This Come About

From the Gospel of the Fourth Sunday of Advent, we read what Mary said to the angel:

“How can this come about, since I am a virgin?”

How many times do we ask similar questions?

How can this come about since I am old?

How can this come about since I am too young?

How can this come about since nobody will listen to me?

How can this come about since I am too busy?

How can this come about since I have my own problems?

How can this come about since I am only one person?

The message of the angel for us today is “Who are we to tell God what is impossible?” or “Who are we to challenge God with our small obstacles?”

The message of the angel for us today is “Watch and see!”
