My phone, hence my camera is never very far from my reach. I love taking pictures! I have quite a collection of photos from many places, mostly nature! I just can’t get enough of the great outdoors! I take the pictures but don’t pay much attention to them at that moment. Eventually, maybe days later, I will check out my recent photos. So, the other day I came across a photo, a rural road, a path to who knows where! I remember the day I took this photo and I remember thinking, what a peaceful, lovely spot as I whipped out the camera and clicked off a few shots. However, when I took the photo I did not notice the image of the cross standing straight ahead of me, right in the middle of the picture! The road appears to be leading right to it.
As I look at this picture now, I can’t miss the cross. I’ve thought about that Image often since discovering it. I’ve thought about how sometimes, out of nowhere, I have encountered a cross or two on my journey through life. Obstacles, burdens, when they appear can become overwhelming and seem larger than life. My first thought is to take cover or run in the opposite direction. Further reflection however, reminds me that Christ’s journey led Him to the cross, but His journey did not end there. His courage reminds me that it is through the cross that new life is born. So and the saying goes, “Keep Calm and Carry On!” Something wonderful is waiting up ahead!
