Precious Blood Sisters and staff joined millions of other stargazers around North America in observing the solar eclipse on Aug. 21. The first eclipse in almost a century to cross the entire United States from the Pacific to the Atlantic oceans created a buzz of excitement as people donned special eclipse glasses and turned their eyes toward the sun. At Salem Heights, Sisters and staff enjoyed “sun”dae ice cream treats and learned the science — as well as age-old folklore and myths — behind both solar and lunar eclipses.
