A legacy of faith: Celebrating our Jubilarians

The Sisters of the Precious Blood recently honored 15 Sisters who in 2020 and 2021 celebrated milestone anniversaries of entrance into the Community. All the Jubilarians were recognized at a Mass and banquet Oct. 3 at Salem Heights, the Congregation’s central house in Dayton.

Father Steve Dos Santos, CPPS, celebrated the Mass. “… Covenants formalize a relationship, an intimacy with God, a relationship that allows us to know His life and Him to know us,” he said in the homily. “The covenant, sealed in blood, says this is for life, and the covenant sealed in the blood of the Son of God tells us that it’s not just for life, but it is forever. And while we gather to celebrate the anniversary of the profession of vows, that covenant for each of us began at our baptism. And it was deepened as we entered into community life. It was deepened when each of you began your life at Fatima Hall. It was deepened when you professed vows for that first time. It was deepened when you professed your vows for life. And it was deepened every time you went someplace new to minister to people, to take on new challenges, and to meet Jesus in a new way.

“And so as we gather to honor the Precious Blood poured out for us, we also honor the 913 years of service to God and the Church that the Jubilarians represent. … We know that it is the power of the blood that cleanses us, that it is the power of the blood of Christ that saves us, that it is the power of the blood of Christ that sets us free. And it is the power of the blood of Christ at work in each and every one of the sacraments, and it is the power of the blood of Christ at work in each and every one of us, and particularly in each and every one of you that we honor this day.”
