A tiny bar of soap could change someone’s life. This fall, several Precious Blood Sisters gathered to label bars of soap with the National Human Trafficking Hotline (1-888-373-7888). The soap is distributed to area motels, where trafficked and other vulnerable individuals may see the phone number and be able to seek help.

Colleen Kammer coordinates the Sisters’ efforts with SOAP (Save our Adolescents from Prostitution), an organization founded by University of Dayton alumna Theresa Flores, herself a survivor of sex trafficking. The National Human Trafficking Hotline is operated by Polaris, a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization based in Washington, D.C. Funding for the hotline is provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and private donors.
