Precious Blood Sisters began their Lenten journey this year with prayer and reflection led by Father Barry Fischer, CPPS. The theme of the retreat, Father Barry said, “is that Jesus comes to reveal the truth about God, the truth about ourselves, the truth about others. … There are lies the world tells us: that our worth is tied up in strength, beauty and wealth. Jesus comes to tell us the truth: that we are made in God’s image and redeemed by his Precious Blood. The challenge is to live into that.”

Father Barry has served as moderator general of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and is currently rector of St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana, where a team of administrators is working to “re-engineer” the college for the future, following the suspension of operations in May 2017.
