Precious Blood Sisters have been busy with these recent events:
- March 8 – U.S. bishops’ listening session on racism at the University of Dayton. The Archdiocese of Cincinnati is one of the stops of the USCCB’s Committee on Racism, which is traveling across the country to hear personal testimonies from people who have experienced racism. This is a follow-up to the bishops’ pastoral letter “Open Wide our Hearts,” which was released in November 2018.
- March 9 – Annual Prayer Memorial – Our annual prayer memorial at Salem Heights is a time in which we come together to connect with one another and to remember the victims of homicide we have prayed for during the past year. A social follows the service.
- March 14 – Empty Bowls soup dinner benefitting the House of Bread, a community kitchen in Dayton. Our own Sister Paula Gero made some of the ceramic bowls that guests took home!
- March 16 – Soap Up the First Four, anti-human trafficking event. Sisters teamed up again with Chaminade Julienne High School, S.O.A.P. (Save Our Adolescents from Prostitution) and Abolition Ohio to distribute hotel soap and missing children posters to area hotels prior to the NCAA’s First Four basketball tournament.
- March 18 – Prayer service at Salem Heights chapel for anti-human trafficking success on the eve of the First Four tournament in Dayton.
