Homicide Vigil – June 8, 2019

April 20th was the last homicide vigil we held. We thank God for the protection of life during these past weeks.

This Saturday we will be holding a memorial vigil for Christopher Lee Campbell Sr., 42, who died by violence on May 27th. Christopher was found shot in his car which crashed into the playground of the Dayton Boys Preparatory Academy at West Second Street and Clemmer Avenue. His funeral will be held this Saturday, June 8th during the same time as our noon vigil. We will be notifying the family that our prayers will be united with theirs at this difficult time.

Take James H. McGee Blvd. to West Second Street, beyond Rosedale Avenue. Turn RIGHT on W. Second St. at the Marathon Gas Station. This street dead ends into Clemmer Avenue.

Follow 35 W to the James H. McGee exit. Turn RIGHT onto James H. McGee. Cross W. Third Street and turn LEFT onto W. Second St. at the Marathon Gas Station to Clemmer Avenue.

This past week has been a tragedy to many throughout our Montgomery County region and beyond. Deep gratitude goes out to the many first responders, utility workers, volunteers and donors who have been and are still reaching out to those who have lost so much. Let us continue our prayers and active support in the days, weeks and months ahead. Just the week before this latest tragedy we came together “United Against Hatred.” Now we are experiencing what it means to be neighbors to one another, to love not just in words but in actions. We are united in love and caring for all our brothers and sisters.
