Community Homicide Prayer Vigil

On the night of January 24th, the body of Ashley Baker, 26, was found by her niece in a residence in the 900 block of Windsor Avenue. Ashley, who had been shot to death, would have turned 27 on February 4th.

Ashley came to Dayton from Alabama several months ago to care for her mother who has cancer. Ashley’s friend, who had accompanied her to Dayton, will be among other friends who will return to Alabama for Ashley’s burial this weekend. How tragic on so many levels! Our memorial vigil for Ashley will be this Saturday, February 8, 12:00 noon in the 900 block of Windsor Avenue.

In Isaiah 49:16 we read “See, upon the palms of my hands I have written your name…” Ashley rests now in the hands of our loving God.
