At the Mercy Manor Founders Day Luncheon and Fundraiser on March 16, Sister Ceil Taphorn accepted the Sister Jean Foppe, RSM, Visionary Award on behalf of the Sisters of the Precious Blood. When receiving the award, Sister Ceil gave a short presentation on the mission of the Sisters of the Precious Blood and expressed the Sisters’ great support of Mercy Manor and the life-changing work they do for women released from prison, homeless shelters and drug treatment facilities.

Sister Ceil also named Sisters who served Mercy Manor in the past, namely Sister Donna Liette, executive director; Sister Rose Margaret Broerman, administrative assistant; Sister Nancy Raley, board member; Sister Margie Zureick, counselor/support to women at DeSoto Bass Residential Center; and Sister Judy Niday, retreat facilitator for women in recovery.

A sense of pride and gratitude was felt by the Sisters of the Precious Blood who were present for this event: Regina Albers, Joan DeChristopher, Mary Garke, Pat Will, Judy Niday and candidate Mi-Kyoung Hwang.
